Baby Giraffe at South African Farm
MEET the 17-year-old school boy who has been raising his cute pet baby giraffe ever since it was sadly abandoned by her parents. Living in a South African farm gave Shandor Larenty the opportunity to form an amazing bond with cute baby giraffe, Mara. Footage also shows Shandor being greeted by his second giraffe pet as he arrives home in his car — 18 foot-tall adult Purdy, who is Mara’s mother. Shandor’s Great Uncle Terry was a circus performer in 1950’s Chipperfield, Hertfordshire and the only person known at the time to have the ability to ride a giraffe, now following in his British ancestor’s footsteps, the South African lad, who lives at the Lion Park near Johannesburg, is training himself and his cute baby giraffe best friend to perform the feat of a human riding a giraffe in what could be the first time in generations.
