African Elephants: Winter rains. . . and wonderful mud!

African elephants Lulu, Maggie and Toka play in the mud at the Performing Animal Welfare Society’s 2,300-acre ARK 2000 sanctuary in San Andreas, California.

Winter rains have filled the lakes, ponds and creeks at ARK 2000 and created many wonderful mudding areas for the elephants.

Visit our website at www.pawsweb.org to find out more about ARK 2000, as well as the eight elephants and other animals who have found lifetime homes at PAWS’ sanctuaries.

It costs PAWS more than $70,000 a year to care for one healthy elephant!

Thank you to PAWS friends everywhere for your kindness and generosity. You make our work possible!
